Beren Torlak is currently pursuing a Master's in Data Science for Economics at the Università degli Studi di Milano. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Ankara, Turkey.
She worked at Ekodenge Inc. as a Project Engineer where she contributed to the DIES platform which is an EU funded tool built for Turkey's Ministry of Environment to assess Best Available Techniques (BAT) compliance and handled BAT consultancy work and financial reporting on other EU projects. Before that, she gained experience on manufacturing process optimization as a Methods Engineering Intern at MEFA Industry, and for her graduation project with Arçelik, she built an application for the company's dishwasher factory with her groupmates.
She works with Python, SQL, R, Figma and MongoDB, and her background spans both industrial engineering and sustainability related work. She's based in Milan.
