Your Sustainable Agenda for 2023

Step into 2023 with sustainable goals for each month of the New Year

Instead of planning resolutions for the whole year to come, take 2023 one step at a time by setting a goal for each month. Here are 12 sustainable resolutions to complete your sustainable agenda for 2023.

January – Just Reusable

For the month of January, challenge yourself to only drink from reusable water bottles. You may go even further to end your use of plastic utensils, paper plates, bags, and plastic cups as well.

February – 50% Recycling

When you grocery shop in February, make sure at least 50% of your cart contains products with recyclable packaging.

March – Meatless Mondays

For the entire month of March, partake in Meatless Mondays; just one day a week where you do not consume meat.

April – Animal Conservation

In April, donate to a wildlife conservation organization that is working to save one of your favorite endangered species.

May – Minimize Water Waste

To conserve water in May, start a rain barrel, take five-minute showers, turn the water off while brushing your teeth, or run your dishwasher less often. No habit change is too small!

June – Jump into Nature

Immerse yourself in the great outdoors during the month of June. Go camping, swimming, hiking, or biking – enjoy beautiful nature for everything it offers you.

July – Ditch Your Junk

In July, resell or donate the things that no longer bring you happiness. Instead of throwing everything out, finding them a new home will prolong their lifecycle and spread joy to others.

👚👖 Could your old rags be someone else's riches?

If you don’t wear it, share it

August – Aim for All Natural

Pay extra close attention to the products you use and the food you consume in August. Avoid processed foods and opt for organic and naturally created goods. This can stretch to your use of cosmetics and even clothing.

September – Sustainable Shopping

When buying new clothes in September, only purchase them if they’re sustainably made. This ensures less environmental destruction in their production process including the ethical treatment of sources and producers.

October – Only Essentials

In October, limit your purchases to only the essentials. You will be saving money and decreasing consumer demand which is highly beneficial to our struggling planet.

November – No New Clothes

Try buying no new clothes in November. Of course, secondhand shopping is still fair game though!

December – Decrease Driving

Carpool when you can, take public transportation, walk, or just stay in your cozy home during the month of December. Fewer cars on the road mean fewer carbon emissions and also less traffic!
