Arqlite, Sustainable Materials From Previously Unrecyclable Plastics

Arqlite, Sustainable Materials From Previously Unrecyclable Plastics

The innovative circular economy company will launch a new set of sustainable products in 2023

Arqlite is a recycling technology company on a mission to accelerate the elimination of plastics from oceans and landfills. Arqlite idea is a game-changer because it achieves that, by transforming hard-to-recycle plastics into sustainable low-carbon materials.

Current technologies, only allow for recycling certain types of plastics. Over half of the plastic products we discard every day cannot be recycled. Laminated flexible packaging,  – like potato chip bags or energy bar wrappers – together with mixed plastics ends up as trash.

Arqlite upcycling technology allows the recycling of these complex and mixed plastics. It doesn’t require sorting, making it easier and more cost-effective. This mixed plastic blend from previously unrecyclable waste can then be used to manufacture new plastic products.

Eco-friendly pellets called CRP – Composite Repro Pellets, are an example of this. These pellets are a more affordable, sustainable option for injection molding and extrusion in the manufacturing of new plastic products.

Furthermore, Arqlite has also developed a new line of lifestyle home products for everyday consumers. Arqlite’s Smart Gravel has been around for a while in replacing the energy-intensive expanded clay for potting and hydroponics, making it lighter, dust-free, and pH-neutral, among others.

Before the end of the year, the company will also launch its first earth-changing gardening durable pot made with ACRP. The pot has a minimalist design, doesn’t need an additional plate for drainage, and will help end the problem of root rot if combined with Arqlite Smart Gravel.

Who would have ever thought that – previously – unrecyclable plastics had that much potential?
