Celebrities and Their Eco-Lifestyles

Celebrities and Their Eco-Lifestyles

Celebrities influence their fans, so why shouldn’t they use their platforms to promote earth-loving causes?

Whether we like it or not, celebrities can influence a lot of people. From the brands we buy to the politics we embrace, there is a reason why organizations choose celebrities as their spokesperson. .

Greta Thunberg, leading Swedish environmental activist, told Vogue Scandinavia,“When one person starts doing something that has a snowball effect and spreads to people around them and they start thinking why is that person doing that, it can plant a seed in that person’s mind and it can grow over time, and that is something I think we underestimate.”

Celebrity influence matters, which is why when celebrities use their influence for environmental causes, it can have a snowball effect that inspires the masses to do their part.

These are our five favorite celebrities including CEOs, women’s rights activists and environmentalists who have slayed the green carpet by promoting a more moral way of life and the use of ethical products.

Emma Watson

A very happy birthday to @EmmaWatson! Thank you for your commitment to sustainable solutions. pic.twitter.com/9sKdgtrqvr

In real life, actress and UN Ambassador Emma Watson is a greater wizard than Hermione Granger. She has started a second Instagram (@the_press_tour) account to record her journey toward more ethical and environmentally responsible high fashion, in preparation for a press tour. Emma Watson is at the forefront of the effort to increase awareness of and demand for sustainable and ethical beauty products.

No matter how cool Watson may seem now, we shouldn’t forget her more modest beginnings and congratulate her for taking the time to memorialize her wardrobe choices and the significance of what went into creating them.

Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney, a.k.a. “Rock Royalty,” is one of the first high fashion designers to include sustainability in her range and personal style. She has refused to use harmful materials in any of her designs (including shoes) since the inception of her business. Stella uses this principle not only for her thriving business but also in her personal life, striving to be as organic and environmentally friendly as possible.

Her long-term vision is informed by and responsible for several principles, which include making every action count, inspiring trust, and celebrating life.

Stella Mccartney has stood up and spoken out for Mother Earth, animal rights, and human wellbeing by avoiding utilizing dangerous materials like leather since day one.

Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde is committed to an eco-friendly beauty routine that includes some of our faves, such as Ursa Major and all-natural True Botanicals, as well as supporting local markets. Olivia inspires us to live our best lives and is a passionate supporter of the feminist movement. We admire her capacity to be open and honest while remaining loyal to herself.

The actress and vegetarian then provides her greatest advice for reducing one’s environmental footprint, demonstrating that she truly walks the walk when it comes to sustainable living and here are some of her few tips to help you kickstart your sustainable habits:

  • Eat meat once a week
  • Recycled and buy vintage clothes
  • Refilled your beauty products instead of buying
  • Reduce and recycled the plastics

Leonardo Dicaprio

Throughout his long-term career, Leonardo DiCaprio, an actor and environmentalist, has long been a passionate campaigner for environmental causes.

DiCaprio founded his organization in 1998, at the age of 24, with the purpose of safeguarding the Earth’s last untouched habitats and developing solutions to create a more harmonious interaction between people and the natural world.

The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation supports over 35 innovative conservation programmes worldwide that conserve vulnerable ecosystems and critical species. He is also a board member of numerous environmental groups, including the World Wildlife Fund, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the International Fund for Animal Welfare, and Pristine Seas and Oceans 5.

Moreover, he has worked to raise awareness and funds for biodiversity conservation, ocean and forest conservation, and climate change mitigation through grantmaking, public campaigns, and media ventures.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish is a literal eco-savior and her current tour is a prime example. The seven-time Grammy award-winning musician is presenting a six-day event before her gigs, titled “Overheated” (after the song off her new album, Happier than Ever) during the course of her tour in London at the O2 arena on June 10-12, 16, and 24-25.

Eilish has long advocated for a slower pace of fashion. In a recent red carpet interview, the singer explained why she wore an upcycled Gucci gown to the 2022 Met Gala by saying, “We didn’t have to trash a bunch of stuff. Everything was there all along. The goal was to minimize my impact on the environment.

Following her successful lobbying of Oscar de la Renta to end its use of fur in its designs, she wore one of the designer’s gowns to the 2021 Met Gala. She also worked with Nike to develop a collection of eco-friendly athletic shoes.

The purpose of these sweltering gatherings is to have singers, activists, and fashion experts talk about the planet’s state, how to deal with climate change concerns, and how to make a difference through the power of one’s voice.

In addition to a showing of her new documentary, Overheated, which features speakers like Vivienne Westwood, the event will feature guest speakers such musician Ellie Goulding and climate activist Tori Tsui. Eilish and her brother, Finneas, made a 40-minute documentary. Not only can fans educate themselves about our planet, but they can also stay entertained with a well-loved eco celebrity.

To sum up, adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle is all about taking baby steps at a time, thus it’s crucial to remember that it’s rather important not to be harsh on yourself but try to keep it simple, be more prudent and think about the environment as much as possible.
