Sustainable Shopping On Black Friday? Yes, Please!

Our favorite sustainable shopping deals for Black Friday 2023

in Lifestyle, Style

Black Friday deals make the biggest noise when the largest names, like Amazon, Walmart, Shein, or Zara, offer them. Those rarely have options for sustainable shopping, let alone discounts on those for Black Friday.

However, while avoiding large non-sustainable brand deals is easy, it might be harder for you to find sustainable shopping options for Black Friday. For this reason, we have put together this guide.

Here are our best sustainable shopping deals for Black Friday.

Black Friday sustainable shopping deals for

Rothy’s recycled plastic shoes

Rothy’s shoes are crafted using recycled materials, particularly plastic bottles. It may seem like a marketing ploy, but Rothy’s has greater ambitions. Achieving full circular production is a top priority for the company, and recycling is a crucial part of that goal.

Full circular production involves creating thread from recycled plastic and utilizing materials that can be easily reused or recycled, resulting in durable and easy-to-wash shoes.

If you like the concept, Rothy’s products are currently on sale, offering up to 50% discounts.

Frank and Oak recyclable denim

Frank and Oak’s Recyclable Denim is quite unique. The company’s strategy is simple: use organic and recycled cotton, avoid wasting water, and use dangerous dyes.

Considering the fashion industry is one of the world’s largest water consumers, Frank and Oak’s technology that reduces its water consumption by up to 95% is very important.

Sustainable shopping at Frank and Oak’s is discounted by up to 40% during Black Friday.

A little piece of information in honour of #WordWaterDay👇

Kyrgies zero waste products

Kyrgies focuses on leather and wool fashion, but its commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop there. As the company puts it:

One of the best things [about wool] is that it’s extremely versatile. Any scrap of felt left over from making a pair of Kyrgies can be reprocessed and reused. Sometimes it’s used as extra padding in our Tengries or Molded Soles. Other times it’s reused as building insulation.

Kyrgies’ mainline product is a pair of house shoes they call Tengries. But while the company’s heart is in comfy shoes and slippers, their Black Friday deals apply to the whole line.

Lomi’s a sustainable compost machines

Compost machines are a great way to reduce food waste, especially for those with a garden. Composting lets you recycle the food you would waste into a rich soil nutrient instead. This process can help produce healthy vegetables and fruits, turning food waste into right into food again.

Composting doesn’t necessarily need a machine, but having one is an immense help. Traditional compost piles are a nice challenge for those who love gardening but might be too time-consuming for anyone else.

Lomi is for them. It makes composting easy with only a small carbon footprint. Even accounting for energy use, “Lomi can produce a net-lower carbon footprint than that same organic waste going to landfill.”

Lumi models are up to 50% off during Black Friday to sweeten the deal.

Compost piles offer the environmental benefits of a skip without any unnecessary hassle.

Xtrema Sustainable Ceramic Cookware

If done correctly, ceramic cookware can be great for the environment. Xtrema, a cookware manufacturer, is offering excellent Black Friday discounts on ceramic pots and pans.

Most of the risk in using ceramics comes from the coating. Cheap coatings can be toxic and are not typically used for plates, pots, or glasses. However, many harmless coatings for humans can still harm the environment.

While expensive, Xtrema’s products are free of dangerous coatings, PFAs, or “forever chemicals.”

Made Trade discounts on sustainable products

Made Trade a megastore for sustainable shopping with discounts of up to 60% and an impressive selection of products.

Since Made Trade is a marketplace with many different sellers, their sustainability approach is slightly different: every product in the store comes with a description of their sustainability efforts.

Furthermore, shipping is always verified as carbon neutral. On top of that, every item has to be compliant with at least two of the company’s core values.

Sustainable Shopping For your pet

With discounts reaching 25% of the price, P.L.A.Y. dog beds are a great choice for pet owners.

P.L.A.Y.’s dog beds are priced higher than the average, but the company guarantees their durability. Additionally, they are easy to wash – a much-needed feature for an item that will be used by dogs. These beds are constructed using a unique type of recycled polyester known as PlanetFill, which is made from recycled plastic bottles. P.L.A.Y. is also one of the few pet accessories businesses that have been certified as a B Corporation.
