My name is Jaafar Wahbeh and I am eleven years old. I am from Jordan. I deeply believe that a human’s value isn’t what you have but what you give and I also believe that as children “We Can”, therefore “We Can Change”! We can be influential and we are responsible to help improve our societies and take part in the UN SDGs movement.
I established my initiative “National Day” where each company, institution or a regular individual dedicates a day in the year to provide a sustainable community service, each year on the same date, such as planting trees or to maintain a school or houses or even public parks.
We can also contribute to founding a public library in a remote area. We can do any service, on one condition that it’s sustainable.
I am thankful to have more than 100 partners in my home Jordan and for winning an award from HH Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah ll and I hope to fill the 365 days of the year.
This is the first step of achieving the change but the other step is to be armed with both knowledge and imagination and there isn’t any better way to get both than reading. As Dr.Seuss put it:
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go
Because of that, I read a lot. So I won the Arabic Reading Challenge awarded by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
I hope that together we can create a better environment for change in our societies!
