Spencer Hurbis was born and raised on the Oregon Coast. She was the editor of the Pacemaker award-winning newspaper "The Marshfield Times" and worked for the high school radio station for four years. Spencer is in her third year at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. During her time at the university, she has worked as an anchor, reporter, and producer for Oregon News. She is a member of the National Broadcast Society and the National Press Photographers Association. In the summer of 2015, Spencer interned with KEZI 9 News, the ABC affiliate in Eugene, OR. After graduation next year, she hopes to continue her career in broadcast journalism in Seattle or New York.
