Where Can You Get a Psychic Reading Online? A Consumer’s Guide

A psychic reading online happens mainly on specialist platforms that connect you with independent advisors via chat, call, or video. Most platforms bill per minute, and because advisors are independent practitioners, prices and quality vary between profiles. This guide compares five platforms and explains how sessions work, what they cost, and how to judge a reader. With this in mind, you can choose a channel and an advisor that fit your question and budget.

Where to Get a Psychic Reading Online: 5 Platforms Compared

Finding the best online psychics starts with choosing the right platform. The five below differ in channel, price, and the kind of reader they feature. The table compares how you connect and what new users pay.

Nebula: Best for Being Matched With the Right Reader

Nebula helps users find an advisor through a short matching quiz, although you can skip it and browse profiles independently. Advisor profiles show specialties, years of experience, and number of consultations.

Advisors are independent practitioners, not employees. The platform publishes its three‑step vetting process: an application and expertise review, an ethics and communication review, and a possible live simulation. Reading types include tarot, astrology, numerology, palm and dream analysis, plus dedicated love and soulmate readings. You’re charged only when a reading begins. The platform holds a 4.3 rating from more than 17,000 Trustpilot reviews and offers new customers 3 free minutes plus 80% off a first reading.

California Psychics: Best for Screened Readers by Phone

California Psychics suits people who would rather call than type and want to know how readers are chosen. The company says it accepts only 2% of applicants.

Readings are done by phone or chat and cover topics including love, career, life path, money, and pets, using tools such as tarot, astrology, and numerology. Readers are grouped as Premier Psychics, Rising Stars, and New Psychics. New customers can get a 20-minute reading for $25, including 15 free minutes. A five-minute minimum purchase applies. Standard rates range from $5 to $23 per minute, depending on the reader.

Psychic Source: Best for Mediums and Video Sessions

Psychic Source has operated since 1989 and offers readings by phone, chat, and video. Readings cover tarot, astrology, love, dream interpretation, cartomancy, and lost objects, as well as psychic mediums readings. New customers get a one-time offer of as low as $1 per minute, and video costs the same as a call or chat. If you are not happy with a paid reading, its satisfaction guarantee lets you request an account credit within 24 hours of the reading.

Oranum: Best for Watching a Reader Before You Pay

Oranum runs public live video rooms, and its FAQ says you can browse streams without an account, so you can see how online psychics work before booking a private session. You can filter readers by category, including tarot, astrology, clairvoyance, or mediumship, and by topics like love or career. Private sessions run via live video, call, or chat and are paid for with prepaid credits, billed per second. New users can receive 100% extra credits on their first credit package, subject to the platform’s offer terms. Refunds apply only to unused credits.

Kasamba: Best for Live Chat With Tarot and Astrology Readers

Kasamba positions itself around psychic chat, tarot, dream analysis, palm readings, astrology, and more, with sessions held as live text chats or voice calls. All customers get 3 free minutes with each of the three advisors they have not had a reading with before, and new customers also get 50% off the rest of that chat. Reader listings show a rate per minute, including discounted rates for new customers, so you can compare prices before you pick an advisor. Tarot readers use a card spread, and astrology readers use birth details.

The best online psychic reading is the one that fits your needs: Nebula offers personalized reader matching, California Psychics emphasizes phone consultations, Psychic Source provides medium and video sessions, Oranum lets you observe live rooms, and Kasamba offers live chat with tarot and astrology readers.

How Online Psychic Readings Work: Chat, Phone, and Video

Online psychic readings involve choosing an advisor, connecting through an available channel, and paying according to the platform’s billing model. The process varies by format and reading type.

Chat lets you exchange written messages and reread the conversation afterward. Phone sessions suit people who prefer to think out loud and discuss follow-up questions in real time; when comparing online phone psychics, check the call rate and when billing begins. Video lets you see the reader and suits tarot spreads or palm readings.

At the start of a session, an advisor may ask your first name, your question, and sometimes your birth date. The reader then uses a method such as tarot, astrology, or clairvoyance to structure the session. Before choosing a psychic online, check the advisor’s listed methods and rate. Treat psychic advice online as a personal perspective, not a verified prediction.

Are Online Psychics Real and Reliable?

An online psychic is a real person offering a real service. Still, no controlled study has shown that psychic ability predicts events, so treat a reading as guidance for reflection. A 1995 evaluation of the US government’s Stargate remote-viewing program by the American Institutes for Research found it unclear whether remote viewing had been demonstrated. It concluded that continuing to use it in intelligence gathering was not warranted. New York Penal Law §165.35 makes fortune telling for a fee a class B misdemeanor, except when it is part of a show or exhibition solely for entertainment or amusement.

Platforms add their own caveats: Nebula’s Full Disclaimer says its services are for entertainment purposes only, are not professional advice, and that advisors self-report their specialties. Reliability depends on how a platform treats its advisors and on the reader’s conduct, not on proven accuracy. Star ratings of psychics online measure client satisfaction, not whether a prediction came true.

How to Find a Good Psychic Reader Online

Start with a platform that publishes how it screens advisors, then pick a reader whose stated specialty matches your question. Trusted psychics online are easier to find when the selection process is explained: Nebula describes a three-step review, and California Psychics says it accepts only 2% of applicants. Profiles then show what an advisor offers, including years of experience, number of consultations, and specialty tags, which are the basic signals of trusted psychics online. Nebula notes that specialties are self-reported, so weigh them against experience and consultation counts. The best online psychic for you is the one whose profile fits your topic.

Leave the session if a reader claims you have a curse, proposes paid energy cleansing, predicts illness or death, guarantees an outcome, or pressures you to keep talking. Do not pay outside the platform or move the conversation to private messages: this can remove the site’s billing records and dispute process.

Love, Soulmate, and Medium Readings: Choosing a Specialist

For love and soulmate questions, choose an advisor who lists relationships as a specialty. Nebula has dedicated Love Reading and Soulmate Reading pages for finding an online love psychic.

A psychic medium is an advisor who offers what they describe as messages from people who have died. You can find a psychic medium online through a menu or filter, depending on the platform. On Psychic Source, open the Psychics menu and choose Psychic Mediums; on Oranum, filter by the Mediumship category; on Nebula, use the psychic medium page. If the loss is recent, a medium reading works best alongside grief support, not instead of it.

What Reading Costs, and Where Free Minutes Fit

An online psychic reading is usually billed per minute, with new-user deals covering the first few minutes and standard rates varying by reader. California Psychics, for example, lists $5 to $23 per minute, so a 20-minute session at the $5 rate costs $100.

Set a time or money limit before you start. Then check whether the card is charged as you go or from a prepaid balance: Nebula charges when a reading begins, while Oranum uses prepaid credits. If you are comparing cheap online psychics, check the standard rate rather than relying only on a welcome offer. Oranum’s public live-stream rooms let you explore a reader’s style before paying for a private session.

How to Prepare for a Reading, and How Long It Lasts

Prepare for psychic readings online by setting a time or spending limit, and gathering any details the method requires. For astrology, this means your date, time, and place of birth; for a tarot or general reading, a concise description of the topic may be enough. Nebula’s homepage suggests writing down five questions before a session, and its guide to questions advises making them specific rather than broad.

No industry standard exists for session length, and under per-minute billing, you decide when to stop. Introductory offers cover only the start: Nebula and Kasamba offer 3 free minutes, while California Psychics, which says a first reading usually takes 15 to 30 minutes, offers up to 20 minutes starting from $25.

Final Thoughts

Choosing a psychic reading online starts with matching the session format and reader’s specialty to your question. Chat works if you want a written record, phone if you prefer a live conversation, and video when the reader’s method is visual. Check how the platform screens its advisors, review their profiles, and compare rates before connecting. Set a firm budget and time limit, especially when introductory offers switch to standard per-minute pricing.

Treat readings as one perspective, and consult a qualified professional for health, legal, or money decisions.
