The Best for the World 2021 will be taking place today, awarding B corporations that provide the greatest impact through their businesses.

Winners of the annual award, which is led by the non-profit organisation, B Lab, are named the “Best for the World™” and their scores are measured within the impact areas of community, customers, environment, governance, and workers that forms the B Impact Assessment (BIA). Corporations with the winning scores are within “the global top 5% in their corresponding size group.”

The impact areas are defined as follows:

Community: These corporations strive to form prosperity that is both collective and sustainable, through “investing in communities”. They welcome solid communities, philanthropic activity, and “social engagement.”

Customers: Forming a high standard of serving customers, these corporations offer critical all-important services, such as healthcare, education and management of finances. They enrich the lives of customers, whilst promoting the common good.

Environment: Paving the way towards a world of greater regeneration and sustainability, remaining mindful of the environment in day-to-day business is the top priority of these corporations.

Governance: These corporations succeed in using business as a means of generating positive impact. They ascertain that their mission will continue to prioritize transparency and accountability, by making their ethos and principles the central theme of their company.

Workers: These corporations are focused on their workforce, expressed through efforts that strengthen their employees skills, support dignity and equity, such as inclusivity in hiring practices.
