He is a world authority on corporate responsibility and sustainable development. John Elkington co-founded Environmental Data Services in 1978 and SustainAbility in 1987, his first two major firms. John Elkington’s latest venture,  Volans is a future-focused business working at the intersection of sustainability, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Volans was created with the aim of reducing the gap between what the sustainability industry was doing and what he thinks needs to be done.

Having served in boards, and advisory boards of over 70 companies and NGOs, it’s a great pleasure to hear from John Elkington how he is shaping his future. Full interview below:

Among John Elkington’s most famous books, The Green Consumer Guide (1988)raised awareness on the environmental impact of everyday products and brands;  Cannibals with Forks (1997) introduced Elkington’s ‘Triple Bottom Line’ concept (People, Planet, Profit) which is the base of a sustainable business strategy.
