China Rolls Out First Oil Production Ship with CO₂ Capture.
China launches the world’s first offshore oil production and storage ship with carbon capture technology. Designed by Cosco Ocean Shipping, the 330-meter FPSO can produce 120,000 barrels daily, minimizing emissions. It captures CO₂ and converts exhaust heat into electricity, boosting efficiency. With offshore oil production emitting 5.1 billion tonnes of GHG in 2022, carbon capture is vital. China aims for net zero by 2060 by strengthening projects like Enping 15-1 to reserve 300,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. Corporations can use ESG solutions to support sustainable investments.
