Born and raised in Pakistan, Zoia has an extensive academic and professional background in business and humanitarian work. With a Masters in Humanitarianism and Conflict Response from the University of Manchester, Zoia has worked in Pakistan and the United Kingdom (aid-assessment projects for South Asia), Thailand (Early Warning Systems and disaster mitigation projects), the Philippines (Humanitarian response alongside local NGOs after typhoon Yolanda) and Nepal (evaluating and reviewing the emergency and recover response to the Gorkha earthquake). Having moved to New York in 2016 to pursue an internship at the IOM Office to the United Nations, Zoia now resides in Pittsburgh where she is serving with AmeriCorps as an Economic Mobility VISTA at United Way of Southern Pennsylvania.
