Saulius Mickevičius has completed his PhD at the age of 25 from Vytautas Magnus. He is the dean of Faculty of Natural Sciences. He has published more than 20 papers in reputed journals and has been doing research and development projects in the fields of waste management and recycling together with industry.

Zane is involved in the implementation of two Interreg Vb Baltic Sea Region Programme funded projects Baltic TRAM (Transnational Research Access in the Macro-region) and Baltic Science Network. Zane joined the CBSS Secretariat in May 2016, prior to that she worked as a national civil servant in Latvia at the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Defence. She holds a Master in European Politics & Policies from KU Leuven.
