Mr. Mo Gawdat - Founder of One Billion Happy

After working for IBM and Microsoft, Mo joined Google where he helped start the platform in more than 50 emerging markets across the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe. He then became Chief Business Officer of Google [X] and lived at the cutting edge of technology.

Mo is the author of Solve for Happy: Engineer Your Path to Joy (2017), an international bestseller translated in 28 languages. Through his 12-year research on the topic of happiness, he created an algorithm and a well-engineered model to reach happiness regardless of the circumstances of life. Mo’s happiness model proved highly effective.

And, in 2014, was put to the ultimate test when he lost his son Ali. ‘Solve For Happy’ and delivering his happiness message has become Mo’s personal moonshot, a way to honor the peaceful life of his son, Ali, who passed away unexpectedly during a routine medical procedure.

In February 2018, Mo resigned from Google[x] to create a global non-profit named after his mission: #onebillionhappy. Today, he spends most of his time and resources to achieve this mission and help one billion people to live a happier life.
