Mareike Hachemer is a high school teacher, a UN and UNESCO delegate for The Role of Global Citizenship Education for the Agenda 2030 and the Role of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development, and a UNAOC Fellow and jury member of the Global Teacher Prize. She was a finalist of the inaugural Global Teacher Prize and a member of the Council of Europe Pestalozzi Programme. In her talk “Empowering Educators for the Global Goals”, she elaborates on the importance of the teaching profession. Mareike is a founding ambassador of the Global Educator Task Force, a global organization of teachers who advocate for the Global Goals in education, develop concepts and resources, collaborate with international organizations like The World’s Largest Lesson and offer presentations and workshops on why and how to #TeachSDGs.
