Kalina Kostadinova is a young Bulgarian director who seeks to bring positive change to society via media and has worked on several upcoming Hollywood productions in different job positions. She graduated from Leeds Trinity University (UK) where she directed her first projects Venus grrrls (2019) and Two Sisters (2019). She took on different roles in front of and behind the camera with UK studios Trylife ltd and Talking Lens Productions, as well as Bulgaria-based Nu Boyana Film Studios, who are owned by one of the longest-running independent film companies in Hollywood, Nu Image and Millennium Media. Among Kalina’s filmography are interactive series TryLife (2012– ) and horror Awful silence (2020) . Kalina’s two short films Mysteries of Alexandrovo tomb (2021) and Roots (2021) premiered in Bulgaria at the Koprivshtitsa cinema in September, 2021. Kalina’s leading motivation is to use her work to improve the representation of Balkan nations and Slavs in the global film industry and popularize their culture.
