Elisabetta Tagliati is a Programme Officer at the Secretariat of Rotterdam Convention based in at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in Rome. She is responsible for delivering technical assistance activities and supporting the implementation of the Convention at national and regional levels, linking the social dimension to the use of pesticides in agricultural production. Her expertise covers both agriculture and the environment, and social issues, including poverty reduction and economics.
Prior to joining the Secretariat, Elisabetta worked on Global Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Farmers Fields Schools (FFSs) projects across countries in the Near East. She also spent two years in Syria working on natural resource management and food security in dryland areas.
Elisabetta is Italian, and holds a BSc in Agronomy and a MSc in Plant Pathology from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bologna, Italy.
