Greenwashing Is Trending, but It Shouldn’t Be!
The growing pressure for companies to be more sustainable has led to a surge in greenwashing, where organizations make misleading...
Born and raised in Caracas, Diana started living abroad at seventeen when she moved to Paris to study French, and what started as a one-month experience turned out to be a life-changing one. Ever since then, with a bit of back and forth, Diana has been living abroad. After Paris, she came to Milan to study fashion design at Istituto Marangoni; moved to New York for her first work at Oscar De La Renta, and later on Alexander Wang; lived for two years in Shanghai working for the Chinese multinational Pacific Union Group; lived in Arusha, in the northern part of Tanzania, teaching English as a volunteer in an orphanage; and since 2015 she has been back in Milan where as of now she has settled with her family.
Diana is a self-made entrepreneur, coming from a family of doctors, not much support in terms of guidance was given. While she was in her second year of university, her family claimed bankruptcy, which brought Diana to work as a waitress and hemming teacher for years. And with her little savings, she opened her first two companies, but most importantly, she has managed to make her way in such a crowded industry.
With over ten years of experience in the fashion and footwear industry, Diana has designed and managed over 50 projects while supporting emerging and established brands to enhance their products and collections. And little by little, she also managed to put environmental and social affairs at the forefront of her collections.
“The reason why I make so much emphasis on society is that no real change can be achieved with such gigantic social disparity. We need first to mitigate these differences and put people in a condition where they can also be worried about the planet.”
