Brett Jenks is the President and CEO of Rare. Having grown Rare more than 2800% since 2000, Brett is now focused on helping Rare scale conservation innovations, especially around fisheries and freshwater.
Prior to Rare, Brett was a journalist and filmmaker, and he served as the Costa Rica Program Director for WorldTeach, a non-profit education organization based at Harvard University’s Center for International Development. He is a founding board member of Foundations of Success, an NGO dedicated to improving the effectiveness of conservation projects around the world. Most recently, Brett was selected as the 2017 recipient of the Dickinson College Rose-Walters Prize for Global Environmental Activism. Brett is also a Catto Fellow, Braddock Scholar and McNulty Prize laureate with the Aspen Institute. Brett earned his B.A. from the University of Massachusetts and his M.B.A. from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
