Jean-Marc Faurès
Jean-Marc Faurès is a senior agronomist and water resources management specialist. He has more than 30 years of experience in dealing with issues related to agricultural development in Africa, the Near East and Asia, using pilot projects to inform national policies. Recent works have focused on climate change adaptation, and on enhancing the livelihoods of rural populations through productive investments in water. In 2015, he joined the Management Team of FAO’s Strategic Programme on Sustainable Agriculture. He coordinates activities aiming at mainstreaming the Sustainable Food and Agriculture approach in national programmes, advocating for a multi-objective, inclusive multi-sectoral approach to agriculture, and better aligning agriculture with the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
