Gianpiero Menza is an International Development Professional with global expertise in sustainable development, business strategy, and management and impact investing.
Gianpiero is currently working as Junior Professional Officer assigned to Bioversity International – CGIAR by the Government of Italy. He conducts research on environmental and especially biodiversity related finance policies and works to identify solutions on how to leverage innovative financing mechanisms, which contribute to sustainable development including agriculture and forest biodiversity.
Previously, he worked as a business development consultant in the US and Italy and as a private sector analyst with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Geneva (Switzerland). Gianpiero holds an MA in Entrepreneurship and Business Strategy from the Bocconi School of Management and a PhD’.,[9n in “The Economics and Management of Natural Resources” with a thesis on “Unlocking the potential of cross-sector partnerships: a shared value perspective”, which he completed as Junior
Visiting Fellow at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
Driven to leverage the private sector and the financial markets to support the transition to more sustainable development, to eradicate poverty and combat climate change while contributing to the advancement of the economies of developing countries.
