Certificate Description
The Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP) is a certification system designed for woody biomass, mostly in the form of wood pellets and wood chips, used in industrial, large-scale energy production.
The program provides assurance that woody biomass is sourced from legal and sustainable sources allowing companies in the biomass sector to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements. The program is developed and managed by the SBP, whose purpose is to facilitate the economically, environmentally and socially responsible use of biomass enabling climate goals to be met.
