LIFE Certification
Certificate Description
The LIFE Certification is a voluntary process that provides recognition to organizations committed to the conservation of biodiversity and the maintenance of ecosystems’ services.
This recognition is made by a third-party assessment, conducted by the LIFE Accredited Certifying Body, following the best international practices related to the management of certification systems. To give transparency to the Certification Development process and to LIFE, Public Consultations are carried out, which create opportunities for the participation of interested parties who wish to contribute to the refinement of the methodology.
The certification was created by LIFE Institute, who promotes the engagement of the business sector to improve sustainability management focusing on the maintenance of biodiversity. Responsible for the development and management of LIFE Methodology, LIFE Institute is recognized and supported by the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and it is in line with the Aichi Goals and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
