Good Labour Practice (GLP) Programme
Certificate Description
The Good Labour Practice (GLP) Programme is a fisheries improvement programme that establishes industry labour guidelines and good labour practices training. The GLP programme aims to ensure that all actors in the shrimp and seafood processing and fishing supply chain are aware of labour standards and laws concerning working conditions, and are equipped to uphold and promote appropriate labour practices in their company and in their supply chain.
The GLP programme is supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO), a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) dedicated to setting labour standards, developing policies and devising programmes that promote decent work for all women and men. The GLP programme, in particular, is managed by the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific through its International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) in Thailand.
