Commission for Environmental Cooperation
Certificate Description
The CEC facilitates effective cooperation and public participation to conserve, protect and enhance the North American environment in support of sustainable development for the benefit of present and future generations, in the context of environmental, economic and social linkages between Canada, Mexico and the United States.
CEC stands for Commission for Environmental Cooperation, whose mission is to conduct research, provide tools and training, and a space for decision-makers and the public to engage on environmental policy issues affecting the North American region.
As of 2020, the CEC operates in accordance with the Environmental Cooperation Agreement, which entered into force at the same time as the CUSMA/T-MEC/USMCA.
