Comcast Sustainability Report
Evaluation of Comcast
Comcast clearly reports on ESG related topics, it has a designated website with all of the company’s ESG statements, reports and related files. The company’s main ESG related mission seems to be diversity and equal opportunity, especially in the USA and it has done impressive work in this regard. There is much information on this topic in the company’s impact report and supporting documents. Further Comcast is aligned with 1.5C, is reducing emissions fast and wants to become climate neutral by 2035. In terms of awards, Comcast has obtained many, but most importantly it was rated B by CDP and also it follows the principles of TCFD and SASB. Even though Comcast already possesses LEED certification, obtaining more reputable certification would positively influence the company’s rating. The most important missing part is the lack of clear reporting on SDGs, however the papers provided by Comcast are clear and easy to read, thus it is not hard to relate the activities to appropriate SDGs. If Comcast were to also implement a tangible purchasing and recycling criterion followed by reputable certifications and ratings and global share of renewable energy, it’s Impakter rating would increase to B.
