WFTO Fair Trade Standard
Certificate Description
The WFTO Fair Trade Standard asses if enterprises truly implement the 10 Principles of Fair Trade. Demonstrating compliance earns Fair Trade Enterprises the designation “Guaranteed Fair Trade”.
The standard comprises a set of compliance criteria based on the 10 Fair Trade Principles and International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions. There are also other non-mandatory requirements, where members must show continuous improvement over time. A member is expected to apply the standard and implement the requirements in a diligent and transparent manner, and constantly refine their Fair Trade practices.
The WFTO Fair Trade Standard is developed by the World Fair Trade Organization, a global community and verifier of social enterprises that fully practice Fair Trade.
