UTZ Standard
Certificate Description
The UTZ Standard certifies coffee, tea, cocoa, and hazelnuts produced within their standards, guided by their principles of fairness and transparency.
The products must be developed in close consultation with a broad range of stakeholders, including a wide-ranging public consultation and be guided by their Board, which is made up of a mix of people from all levels of the supply chain. Their producers must work in light with International Labor Organization conventions.
The Standards are created by UTZ, formerly called UTZ Certified. It is a program and a label for sustainable farming. In 2014, UTZ was reported to be the largest program for sustainable farming of coffee and cocoa in the world.
