OEKO-TEX Standard 100
Certificate Description
The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is one of the world’s best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety.
The standard certifies that every component of a specific article, every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances, and that the article therefore is harmless for human health. The test is conducted by an independent OEKO-TEX partner institutes on the basis of the OEKO-TEX® criteria catalog. During the test, numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health, are taken into account. The criteria catalog is updated once a year at least, and expanded with new scientific knowledge or statutory requirements.
The standard is developed by OEKO-TEX, which provides independent certifications and product labels enabling companies along the textile chain and all consumers to make responsible decisions in favour of products that are harmless to health, environmentally friendly and manufactured in a fair way.
