OEKO-TEX Eco Passport
Certificate Description
The OEKO-TEX Eco Passport is an independent certification system for chemicals, colourants and auxiliaries used in the textile and leather industry.
The leather and textile chemicals certified in accordance with the Eco Passport are tested for harmful substances in critical concentrations as listed in the Eco Passport standard. The label also gives transparent proof of which articles meet the criteria for ecologically responsible textile and leather manufacture.
The standard is developed by OEKO-TEX, which provides independent certifications and product labels enabling companies along the textile chain and all consumers to make responsible decisions in favour of products that are harmless to health, environmentally friendly and manufactured in a fair way. Once per year, OEKO-TEX updates the banned substances and limit values and expands them to include new scientific findings or statutory requirements.
