Global Recycle Standard
Certificate Description
The Global Recycle Standard (GRS) is an international, voluntary standards that certifies recycled input and chain of custody. Comparing to the Recycling Claim Standard, it includes an additional criteria for social and environmental processing requirements and chemical restrictions.
The objective is to verify and increase the use of recycled materials, and provide consumers (both brands and end consumers) with a tool to make informed decisions. GRS also aims to reduce harmful impact of production to people and the environment, provide assurance that products are processed more sustainably, and drive higher percentages of recycled content in products.
GRS is developed and managed by Textile Exchange, a global nonprofit organization aiming to create leaders in the sustainable fiber and materials industry.
