Certificate Description
The Naturetextil certificate defines the highest level of textile sustainability by applying the maximum currently achievable parameters to production and product.
Since 2000, the certificate incorporates the guidelines for sustainable textiles on the basis of definitions of ecology and social accountability formulated by the International Association of Natural Textile Industry, and applied to the entire textile production chain. Because this represents the highest currently achievable level of production, it is logical that only a limited number of products can meet them.
The certificate was developed by the International Association of Natural Textile Industry (in German IVN), an association of over 100 companies from all stages of leather and textile manufacturing that stand for ecological and socially responsible production.
