SPG-ABIO Certification
Certificate Description
The SPG-Abio Certification assesses whether the products have been produced in accordance with the regulations of organic agriculture in Brazil.
The program involves all components of the organic production network. Farmers, producers, extractivists, traders, consumers and technicians share the responsibility for assessing the conformity of production units with organic agriculture regulations.
The program also provides training and qualification for farmers, producers and extractivists, in order to help them incorporate the principles of agroecology into their production systems, which are the basis of organic agriculture.
The certificate is developed and managed by the Association of Biological Farmers of the State of Rio de Janeiro (ABIO), whose main objective is to contribute to the expansion of the organic movement in Brazil.
