FairWild Standard
Certificate Description
The FairWild Standard protects plant species and local wildlife from the effects of over-harvesting, and makes sure local collectors enjoy fair working conditions.
The certification allows buyers – from ingredient traders up to consumers – to know they are dealing with legally, ethically and sustainably harvested products. They are fair traded, meaning that the benefits are felt by all those involved, right down to the local communities harvesting the wild plants.
The certification is developed and managed by the FairWild Foundation, whose mission is to enable transformation of resource management and business practices to be ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable throughout the supply chain of wild-collected products.
