CanadaGAP
Certificate Description
CanadaGAP is a food safety program for companies that produce, handle, and broker fruits and vegetables. Certification indicates that the operation has a system of procedures that minimize the risk of contamination.
The program, recognized by the Canadian government, is designed to help implement and maintain effective food safety procedures within fresh produce operations and uses two separate manuals. One manual covers greenhouse operations and the second covers fruit and vegetable operations. Both are designed to implement good agricultural practices (GAPs) that foster product traceability and supplier management.
The CanadaGAP program is owned and operated by CanAgPlus, a Canadian non-profit dedicated to food safety for fresh fruits and vegetables.
