Certificate Description
The Baseline Common Code is a set of principles and practices that serve to pave the way in the understanding and implementation of sustainability in coffee production and processing.
The code is made of 27 principles across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. These principles are based on good agricultural and management practices as well as international conventions and recognized guidelines accepted in the coffee sector and; 10 Unacceptable Practices which have to be excluded.
The standard was created by The Global Coffee Platform, a multi-stakeholder sustainable coffee platform working towards the improvement of the economic, social and environmental conditions of coffee production and processing to build a thriving, sustainable sector for generations to come.
