Fair Trade Tourism Certification Standard (FTT)
Certificate Description
The Fair Trade Tourism Certification Standard assists tourism businesses to develop a foothold on the path to sustainability through the use of custom-designed benchmarking toolkits.
The objective of Fair Trade Tourism Certification is to improve profitability, competitiveness and sustainability of small-scale tourism producers through supply ad value-chain development, resulting in improved socio-economic flows for Fair Trade Tourism end-beneficiaries.
The standard is developed by the Fair Trade Tourism (FTT), a non-profit organisation that promotes responsible tourism in southern Africa and beyond. The aim of FTT is to make tourism more sustainable by ensuring that the people who contribute their land, resources, labour and knowledge to tourism are the ones who reap the benefits.
