Certificate Description
The Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) certification is a comprehensive audit that applies broadly to all fruit and vegetable crops and address labor conditions, food safety and pest management.
Variations on standards applied is dependent on the presence of processing or packing facilities and whether the grower chooses to opt to include the Ethical Charter Addendum. Although comprehensive to include categories as noted, audits are always scoped specifically to the operation.
The certification is developed by the Equitable Food Initiative (EFI), which brings together growers, farmworkers, retailers and consumers to transform agriculture and improve the lives of farmworkers.
