1% For The Planet
Certificate Description
1% For The Planet is a global movement that helps fund diverse environmental organizations so that they can collectively become a more powerful source in solving the world’s problems.
The project was developed in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, who wished to reconcile their shared love for the outdoors with the responsibility to protect the planet and decided to give 1% of their sales back to the environment – whether or not they were profitable.
Today, the movement includes more than 3,000 members, both individuals, and private companies, coming together to protect the planet.
