Charlie is the Assistant Country Manager of the Haileybury Youth Trust in Uganda. He and the all-Ugandan team train local youths in sustainable construction techniques, using the interlocking stabilised soil block (ISSB). As winners of the 2017 Ashden Award for Sustainable Buildings, the Trust and its supporters are committed to maximising the positive impacts of skills training and infrastructural development, while minimising the negative impacts of deforestation in East Africa.
